In honor of Endangered Species Day, Stone Zoo is inviting kids to enter the Endangered Species Day Coloring Contest. Stone Zoo is home to a number of endangered species including jaguars, Mexican gray wolves, Panamanian golden frogs, hyacinth macaws and others.
Draw a picture of your favorite endangered species or write a message about the animal. Kids ages 3-10 are invited to submit entries for three age categories: ages 3-4, ages 5-7, and ages 8-10. The winners of each age group will receive a certificate of recognition and the honor of having their artwork framed and displayed in the Animal Discovery Center. The rules are as follows: Pictures must be on standard 8 ½-by-11 inch (letter size) paper; pictures may be done in pencil, crayon or marker — no chalk, paint, glue or computer illustrations; picture must include your favorite endangered species or a message about Endangered Species Day.
Entries will be accepted in the Stone Zoo Animal Discovery Center no later than 4 p.m. on May 15. One entry per person.
