Endangered Species Day
Started in 2006 by the United States Congress, Endangered Species Day is a recognition of the
importance of endangered species and an occasion to learn how we can help protect them.
The national Endangered Species Day Art contest provides students with an opportunity to learn about
endangered species and express their knowledge and support through artwork.
Party with the Penguins
You are invited to attend the Association of Zoos and Aquariums reception immediately afterward at
6pm. Meet Jack Hanna, Director Emeritus, Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, interact with his animal
ambassadors, and learn about the wildlife conservation efforts of AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums.
Location : Rayburn House Office Building, Washington DC
