| Plan a visit to the Maine Wildlife Park from on to find out more about Endangered Species Day with the Endangered Species Coalition and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. There will be informational tables and displays and a wildlife biologist available to talk about threatened and endangered species in Maine. On Saturday, May 15th hundreds of Brownies and Girl Scout's from around the state will be visiting the Park.
The Maine Wildlife Park is home to over 30 species of Maine wildlife several are endangered species; including Canada lynx, golden eagle, mountain lion, Blanding's, Spotted and Box Turtles; and the formerly endangered bald eagle. Many of the animals at the park were brought here because they were injured or orphaned, or because they were human dependent - raised, sometimes illegally, in captivity. The Park serves as a permanent home for wildlife that cannot survive in the Wild. All kinds of animals are here for their protection and healing. And they're here for you to enjoy and learn more about. In addition to the wildlife, the Maine's Wildlife Park has several trail to explore; a wood trail, game trail and a wetland trail; a visitor center with information and exhibits, a fish hatchery, museum, and gardens. They offer outdoor classrooms and guided tours.
