Kids' Share the Shores Artwork on Display Tijuana Estuary Visitor Center
Friday, May 21 2010, 10:00am - 5:00pm
Come see the Share the Shores artwork done by Imperial Beach students. The artwork will be on display in the visitor center through Endangered Species Day, May 21st. Students learned about threatened western snowy plovers that nest on nearby sand dunes and were then asked to help them by creating signs asking beachgoers to steer clear of the sparrow-size birds. Five pieces of the 50 art pieces on display will be chosen by the San Diego Audubon Society and reproduced for semi-permanent signs along the beaches at Silver Strand and the Tijuana Estuary. About 150 students participating in the project. The artwork can be viewed Wednesday - Sunday from 10:00am - 5:00pm.
