November 29, 2012 - The Society for Conservation Biology's (www.conbio.org) John Fitzgerald was awarded the prestigious 2012 "Brock Evans Award" for outstanding work to protect endangered species. He received this award for his lifetime of work with numerous organizations spearheading the protection of America's most imperiled species and the places they call home.
"This room feels like Conservation's Camelot," he told supporters in a 3-min acceptance speech. "All of you are knights in this cause...And you will not fail, and neither will the children who come after us."
We thank John for his immeasurable work and are honored to have presented him with the 2012 Brock Evans Award.
